Comiket 74 is Here, and Lots of Type-Moon News

c74kara.jpg

So Comiket 74 has come to a pass, and again history has been re-written! Hopefully after this post, I'll stop writing so many Type-Moon-related posts and focus more on other stuff so this place doesn't turn into a TM fansite. First of all, this summer the TM people attended the convention not in the industry area, but the doujin area surrounded by BL groups, and as it turns out, the line to their booth, Bamboo Broom, was so long that it was legendary (poor Ed), I'm sure there are going to be blogs talking about it somewhere (Edit: Here it is!).

Anyway, back to the meat of the story, the new Kara no Kyoukai chapter that was released, "Mirai Fukuin," is nothing short of amazing. Aside from the short comics included, the story is also very interesting (not just the tabletop conversation as told in the original manuscript). Without further ado, here's a brief summary of the story and the comics that came with it.

[ If you haven't realized already, the following content contains major spoiler! ]

[ Also, it is assumed that if you read this, you have at least some idea of what KnK is about and who the characters are! ]

Big, big news! The site of Takebouki has been updated with fantastic news regarding its upcoming products at Comiket 74. First, a little recap:

"A new work from 竹箒 (Takebouki, or Bamboo Broom) called "Kara no Kyoukai - the Gaeden of sinners / recalled out summer" will be released during C74. The item will be sold on August 16th at the East A-28 area."

Now, not only has the type "Gaeden" been corrected to "Garden," the site has also been updated with sexy new graphics and a slew of new info released.

Future Works from Type-Moon

newkara.jpg

Japanese Type-Moon fan blog Seasons of Change recently posted a link to this page, which pretty much says the following:

"A new work from 竹箒 (Takebouki, or Bamboo Broom) called "Kara no Kyoukai - the Gaeden of sinners / recalled out summer" will be released during C74 (that's this summer's Comiket for you none-geeks). The item will be sold on August 16th at the East A-28 area."

Also, that big phrase on the top says:

"Hallucination of summer. Returning to the origin. A bonus track that connects the future and the past."

Sooooo, what does this all mean? While there are no concrete information, here is what we know:

"The Next Worlds of Type-Moon"

typemoonnew.jpg

Not really news, but Type-Moon has updated their sites with sections for all three of their newly announced games, with the subtitle of "The next worlds of TYPE-MOON."

At the moment nothing we don't know about are available, the only things up are some character art and sketches of the games, all of which were already featured in the magazines released last month.

Still waiting for Tsukihime 2 and the next volume of DDD though :/ On a side note, look for a big Type-Moon feature soon...

New Type-Moon Projects!

tmnewgames.jpg

With issues of the latest issue of Tech Gian and Type-Moon Ace "leaked", news of Type-Moon's upcoming projects are practically everywhere now:

Mahou Tsukai no Yoru - Not much news here, the game was announced by Type-Moon a couple of weeks ago. The story is based on one of Nasu's (TM co-founder) early unreleased novels. The story centers around the life of magician Aoko Aozaki and her sorcery teacher Alice Kuonji, who live together in a mansion. One day, a young boy called Souichirou Shizuki joins them, and things become interesting...

The "bad news" is the game will be "All Age", meaning there are no ero contents, of course, being a TM game, the story is what really matters. Another thing to note is that the art will be done by Hirokazu Koyama, making this one of the first TM game not drawn by Takeuchi.

Fate/stay night English Patch v2.0 Released by mirror moon

ubwpatch.jpg

After a long wait, visual novel translation group mirror moon has finally finished translating the second story arc of Fate/stay night!

The new patch, appropriately titled Fate/stay night English v2.0, not only contains translation for both the Fate route and the UBW (that's Unlimited Blade Works for those non-Type-Mooners) route, but also come with the option of adding voices into both the Fate and UBW routes, that is, as long as you have a (legal) copy of the PS2 version of the game, Realta Nua.

Download links: Direct, RapidShare, Megaupload, BT

And some places to purchase Realta Nua.

For those of you not in the known, Fate/stay night is a eroge (adult) visual novel made by Type-Moon. The game has three different "storyline" the player can play through, "Fate," UBW," and "Heaven's Feel."

Great to see a 66%-Complete English patch for the game coming out, considering a few years ago the only way to understand what's going on in the game is to read story summaries...it'll also be fun to see which patch reach the final version first, the English patch or the Chinese patch? (For those who doesn't know, the Chinese fan community has also made their translation patch that come with voice add-on, coincidentally, it's around 66% complete as well)

While on the topic of Fate translation...check out Multiple:Option's wonderful abridged version of the Fate/stay night trial demo and the Fate/hollow ataraxia Prologue (both translated!) to the DS, as well as the Fate
