Alicesoft Website Japan Only, Fate/Extra Stuff

alicesoftweb

It would seem that the Alicesoft has blocked all foreign IP addresses from accessing its website, going to their site returns a "Japan Only" message...

This is not the first case where a Japanese eroge maker has implemented such IP block, and there were already talks of Alicesoft doing something like this. With Daiteikoku possibly seeing a 2010 release (or early 2011), this seem like a logical move for Alicesoft (som are saying Alicesoft did this in preparation of release new information on Daiteikoku).

Fate/Extra Extravaganza, the Year of Type-Moon

fateextra

This is a great year to be a Type-Moon fan. Why? First and foremost, Mahou Tsukai no Yoru is coming out on September 30th (the Type-Moon website got a facelift as well), which just happens to be the same day that the DVD of the Unlimited Blade Works film is released, coincidence? Either way, it has been five years since the last major original Type-Moon product, Fate/hollow ataraxia (well, it technically was still just a fandisc, but I think its quality and size merits this) hit the stores, no more milking their existing properties (okay, so the Rakkyo films were a nice treat), yay!

According to Nasu, there will be three parts to Mahoyo. Part one, the one that will come out this September, is based on the story written by Nasu before Tsukihime, while the next two parts will be all new content. Looking at Type-Moon's past release record, I wonder how long it'll be before the fans can finally see the last part, that, and Tsukihime 2... (considering there are still fans patiently waiting for news of DDD volume 3).

Mahoyo Delayed Till 2010 Thanks to PS3, Cross Days Delayed As Well

mahoyodelay

So Type-Moon Ace Vol.3 was released a while ago, and what's the big announcement? Mahou Tsukai no Yoru has been delayed until 2010!

The official reason goes something along the lines of "The delay was in part due to being over-optimistic about recreating a 13-year-old work, and in part because we can't suppress to our desire to pursue new stories." There was also words of the entire company working hard together to get the game done blah blah.

Hmm, okay, fair enough, guess TM pulled a Blizzard, will just have to look forward to both Mahoyo and Starcraft 2 in 2010.

Still Alive Edition: IGF Finalists, TM News, and More

tma2

Indeed, mG is still alive! It's just that real life is getting busier and busier =(

So many things to talk about, where to start? First of all, finalists for this year's IGF is out for a while. As (somewhat) expected, games like Blueberry Garden, Dyson and Night Game made it in, while some other unexpected entries, like You Have To Burn The Rope, also somehow ended up in there, lol. Congratulations to Cortex Command for finally making it in, and Machinarium is looking mightily good.

In other IGF news, the 2009 IGF Student Showcase winners are out, and voting for the Audience Award is currently underway.

Happy New Year (to whoever actually comes here)! May this little site be updated more frequently in 2009.
