Recent Alicesoft News, Daiteikoku First Look

daiteikoku

Stumbled across a new website called Eroge News, which, looking at its archive, was launched just recently. As its name implies, Eroge News focuses on eroge news. The site's simple, clean layout is really pleasing on the eyes too. Anyways, will keep an eye out on it.

On to some real news. Eroge News mentions that in the latest issue of Tech Gian, Alicesoft has officially announced Daiteikoku and Rance 8, the first coming out in spring 2011 and the latter soon to follow. Also, a new miko training/battle game called Shaman's Sanctuary that's coming out in November.

Littlewitch Ceases Operation Indefinitely

Continuing the trend of reporting old news, Littlewitch announced last December that they're closing up shop "indefinitely" after their latest game, Sugar Coat Freaks, is released on January 29th. The main reason for the sudden announcement, as with most eroge brands that end up getting shut down, is due to economic hardship.

For those not familiar with Littlewitch, it's an eroge company founded in 2001. What makes Littlewitch awesome is Ooyari Ashito, whose unique art style became one of the biggest selling points of Littlewitch's games. When Littlewitch released Shirotsumesouwa -Episode of the Clovers- in 2002, it turned quite a few heads and put the company on the map. The company followed up with Quartett! in 2004, which was highly praised and sold even better.

Nice Boat! 0verflow Officially Announces Cross Days

Great news! 0verflow, the maker of School Days and Summer Days, has announced their next installment in the Days series, Cross Days. Although the game itself was announced many a days ago, real information and screenshots are finally available as of October 21st following the release of the latest issue of Tech Gian.

So, what is Cross Days all about? First, the game takes place in the same world as School Days, in fact, the story happens in parallel to School Days' plot. Of course, there will be many choices that the player can make, which will either lead to happy ending (most likely involving having "intimate relationship" with multiple heroines) or endings that involve blood and gore (NICE BOAT).

Meteor Closes its Door

According to Canned Dogs, eroge maker Meteor (2004 - 2008) recently announced that they'll be closing down as of April 30th.

From the report: "Meteor was best known for their debut game Shinjyu no yakata by Tanaka Romeo and more recently Clover Point."

And a really interesting tidbit:

I'm getting this feeling that every brand that Romeo writes for will have a high chance of dying. Xuse is on the edge now with their employees quitting, and D.O and FlyingShine have fallen into silence.
