Cortex Command Interview Times 2

rocketboom.gif

Hopefully you've all heard of Cortex Command by now (and if you haven't, check it out, you won't be disappointed), the first game to win IndieGames' Game of the Month feature (which for now seems to have stopped after its first installment). Anyway, recently two interviews with Data Realm, maker of Cortex Command, have surfaced on the internet.

The first interview is with Play magazine, a scan of which can be found here. The second interview is with IndieGames, which can be found here. With these interviews, a lot of interesting information on Cortex Command were made available to public, let's see some of them...

New Touhou Game Announced

This is actually kind of old news, but due to its awesomeness, it cannot go unmentioned. Team Shanghai Alice has announced the latest installment in the Touhou series (the mega-popular shmup/curtain shooter that has all the doujin fans going gah gah). The new game will be called Touhou Chireiten ~ Subterranean Animism (東方地霊殿 ~ Subterranean Animism), and a demo will be available at the upcoming Reitaisai on May 25th, and will later be made available online.

Gensokyo.org has a translation of ZUN's blog (ZUN is the creator of Touhou games) regarding the announcement:

Story:
"With the spouting of geysers, the spirits of the Earth emerge. Reimu and Marisa are fine with it, but the youkai can’t allow this. Sluggishly, they go underground, to the source of the disturbance. Sealed deep within the earth are youkai with a detestable ability... what will the pair do this time?"

Meteor Closes its Door

According to Canned Dogs, eroge maker Meteor (2004 - 2008) recently announced that they'll be closing down as of April 30th.

From the report: "Meteor was best known for their debut game Shinjyu no yakata by Tanaka Romeo and more recently Clover Point."

And a really interesting tidbit:

I'm getting this feeling that every brand that Romeo writes for will have a high chance of dying. Xuse is on the edge now with their employees quitting, and D.O and FlyingShine have fallen into silence.
